This Marsala shawl is a red brown close to a warm auburn. It has been hand dyed and is one of a kind. The shawl is loosely hand hemmed.
This particular shawl is a medium to dark warm muted brown with red auburn in it. It is more on the red side of brown than on the yellow side of brown.
When I imagine a color, I "concoct" the mixture, in order to obtain the shades I have in mind. This particular color has been obtained after 3 different dye baths.
My unique shawls and scarves are individually hand dyed with permanent dyes, unless I plan to have several shawls the same color for a wedding for instance. I create wonderful individual variations from one shawl to the other. I have been experimenting with silk dyes for years, and I still find amazing "concoction" that create beautiful and unusual results, including an amazing variety of shades and different values of the same shade.
It has been hand hemmed (hand rolled) and pre-shrunk. It can be hand washed in cold water and ironed when still slightly damp.
The item is very soft, flowing, luxurious and elegant.
DIMENSIONS: 21" x 73".
The first two photos were taken outside in afternoon natural light.
